NHS 111

The NHS in Cheshire and Merseyside continues to be busy, caring for people across the area.

If you have an urgent healthcare need, that can’t wait till the next working day, it’s still possible to speak to a GP in the evening, at weekends and on Bank Holidays. If you call your GP practice outside of office hours, you will hear a recorded message, with details of how to get in touch with a GP. This may be through contacting NHS 111.

The 111 online service offers patients quick advice and the best options for getting the care they need, including getting a call back from a trained clinician or nurse, booking them an appointment in A&E, or providing advice on how to help them recover.

PLANNING AHEAD

With the Bank Holidays coming up, make sure that you check that you’ve got enough prescription medication left – it can take a couple of days for a repeat prescription to come through and you don’t want to run out. You can use the NHS App to put in a request for a repeat prescription or email prescribingteam.grange@nhs.net

Opening times for services such as pharmacies, walk in centres and GP practices may change over the bank holiday, so residents are advised to plan ahead to make sure they know where to go for help.

For help and advice on a range of health issues, high-street pharmacies can provide expert advice.  Search on-line for Find a Pharmacy for your nearest 24-hour or out of hours pharmacy service.

A number of pharmacies are open on Good Friday, Easter Sunday and Easter Monday.
